About KMZ Inc.

KMZ, Inc. is an 8(a) certified, minority & woman-owned small Information Technology company focused on providing cutting-edge, reliable and powerful new technology solutions to our government and enterprise customers.

Since 2009, KMZ, Inc. has developed a large number of solutions for National Institutes of Health (NIH) to continuously improve biomedical research. The flexible systems that KMZ has built range from web-based electronic applications to enterprise grants management systems.

As a subcontractor on the NIH electronic Research Administration program (eRA), KMZ Inc brings over 6 years of experience transforming our federal client’s enterprise grants management solutions that process and manage NIH, AHRQ, CDC, VA, FDA, and SAMHSA grants, collectively, for over 400,000 grantees, researchers and grant administrators world-wide with an average of daily 20,000 logins.

Today, KMZ supports multiple NIH external facing applications, including the eRA Commons project and the Interagency Edison. Commons is a web application that grant applicants, grantees and federal staff at NIH and grantor agencies use to access and share administrative information relating to NIH research grants, and Edison is used for invention and patent reporting for 33 federal agencies.

KMZ's experience spans all phases of the grants lifecycle including idea generation/funding opportunity preparation, electronic grants application submission, post award and reporting such as NIH federal-wide research performance progress reporting, electronic submission and tracking for research training grants, federal financial reporting, grants' financial conflict of interest processing, grantees' and organizations' account information management, NIH administrative supplements submission by using state of the art analytical and visualization software.

In addition, KMZ has expertise in Biomedical Informatics since the year of 2001 including developing informatics platform to allow researchers and bioinformaticians to access and analyze subject annotation and experimental data across multiple subject annotation trials and studies.

Currently, KMZ, Inc. is also providing support for the University of California, San Francisco in the areas of clinical and genomic data integration for clinicians to collect, manage, analyze microarray gene expression data, and to conduct integrative research without requiring programming experience. So researchers can execute, save and share queries to identify and collect many types of data, combining clinical information with genetic and genomic data to enable multidimensional analysis.

Team members from KMZ, Inc. have received numerous awards from the NIH Director, Office of Extramural Research, Office of Research Information Systems and electronic Research Administration for excellence in performance. Last year, we received the NIH Office of the Director Award for NIH Director's Awards for Application Submission System & Interface for Submission Tracking, Hurricane Sandy Data Collection.
